As my rotors were warping, I wrote to GT Rotors to get info.
quote:
Andy,
The GTRotors can be turned like any other rotor, the min thickness is marked on the rear casting. A min cut should clean up the surface, which may not be warped, rather but exhibiting slip/stick spots due to pad residue or smear. Its aslo a good idea to scuff the pad surfaces while they are apart.

#31 was at C&M Chevrolet last week and they turned the rotors plus replaced the front pads with GM Durastop pads. the rear pads are still around 50%
So far, I'm happy with the results.
I don't know of any others who have commented here about the topic so thought I'd mention it.

are they drilled thru, or dimpled? I'm familiar with the GT Rotors and I believe they are just dimpled. the sensation you felt may not have been 'warpping' as much as it could have been 'run-out' on the pads. (one end thinner than the other)
the DuraStops are a good wet/dry pad, but you'll notice the dust.

I thought Mike had put black wheels on #31.

Mike had what he called the stealth look on for a while, but had gone back to a more traditional look by the time #31 changed hands. I haven't changed the look at all. The only thing I've added is an SL chrome logo under the rear lights on the driver side.
My rotors are drilled through. The company did mention that it might be residue on the surfaces but they really were warped. Mike had installed a set of police pursuit pads and I wanted to replace the used ones with the same thing, but according to Mike, there IS no civilian eqivalent.
I still have roughly 50% on the rear pads but the front have been replaced with the GM pads.

My deal on a set of BFG KD's has fallen through as well. I had gone to a local auto store and they had agreed to get a set for me at around $210 per tire, installed, balanced. Well I think the manager saw that and backed out on the deal, even though it had gone through on my card, by saying their computer couldn't take the order and what kept coming through were KDW's.
Cheapest price on a set, installed and balanced so far is $1150.
