I want to order some Zaino and give it a try. Does Z5 really get rid of the swirl marks? Remember my car is black and shows everything.

Are there any distributors near me in Tampa?

Easy sale for some one, please post. Thanks

yes Zaino will diminsh the appearance of swirls. It doesn't get rid of them like a rubbing compound would but it fills in the swirls and layers over them so the paint appears smooth.

I just put on 2 coats of Z5 with ZFX this weekend for the first time in months. My car, being dark blue, had swirls showing. After 2 coats you can hardly see them at all. It does take a few coats though and ZFX definitely helps as well.

lots of layers and lots of patience. after about
40 coats it really does deepen the colour. i have black with over 100 coats on it. you still will get swirl marks in the clear, that's a reality with black! [Big Grin]

So are you saying that the Z5 is not effective then? Just go with the Z2?

Z5 with ZFX is the best. I dont' use Z2 anymore. I only use it on my red car so I can use it up.

Their site site says that Z2 gives you a better shine than the Z5. In your experiences with the products you have not found this to be true?

I, like Dan, only use Z5 now. The Z2 is thinner and while it does seem to give a better shine, there isn't much difference in my opinion. The Z5 is also a little more durable and that's what I need on my car since I don't apply it as often as other people. And the ZFX defintitely makes a difference.

I use the Z5 a couple times a year. I use the Z2 almost every week.

I have not tried the Z5 with the ZFX that's on my agenda for this spring. I find the Z5 takes longer to "set up", and I usually do it early in the morning when it's still a bit chilly outside.

Whatever you use, you have to try it on your car, in your temperature and humidity conditions and find what works best for you. [Smile]

The Z-5 has had a formula change to further advance the shine. Alot of folks with black cars use nothing but the Z-5, no Z-2.

You'll want to apply the Z-5 and build up layers until the swirls are no longer noticeable. Of course you need to make sure you aren't putting in new ones. Develop a gentle touch and use onlt the best 100% cotton towels and mitts.

I have found that when combining ZFX with Z5, it gives me the same great shine that I loved about the Z2. I used to put 10 coats of Z5 then 10 of Z2 and keep going back and forth. Now I just use the Z5 with ZFX on my black car and the Z2 on the red one. Once the Z2 is gone, I'll use Z5 with ZFX only!

This picture was from 2 years ago, I used z5 and then z2 every 10th time. Last year I started using the ZFX with the z5 and again the z2 every 10th time or so. Normally before a show I will apply a final coat of z2 just before we leave. Seems to do a pretty good job on a black car, remember you can use just the z2 if you want, it will just take much longer to hide any swirls.
