I saw that - they sure "quit" on us in a hurry. I am surprised a bit. I realize as a business they
have to keep current, but there are so many
F Bodies on the road now that I thought they'd
still consider us one of the "group" at least
for a while longer. Oh well, it is what it is!

To be honest, I am surprised it lasted this long. We are 6 months past the end of the fcar era. It was time.

They need to bring their current product lineup to the forefront.

I agree with Greg. It used to be a place to go and share you love and knowledge of the wonderful cars they build for us. Now it's a place with a lounge and a bunch of forums for selling cars and parts.

Not sure I agree, after all, for many of us we are just getting in to the next phase of ownership - more modifications now that the fear of touching our new cars is subsiding, more repairs now that they are getting older, and the association and freindships are expanding. I think this is a huge business opportunity to cater to the market as it evolves.

I'm with you Rich. It's too bad the SLP site isn't catering to this business opportunity.

Well, the board is SLP Engineering's, not SLP Performance Parts. Unfortunately, the only thing Engineering can do for us at this point is provide OE replacement parts for their content. Lets keep our fingers crossed that will change with future product endeavors.

As far as aftermarket fcar stuff... Performance Parts decided not to continue a message forum. That is a whole 'nother story, lol. [Razz]

....but with that decision made, it was time for Engineering to move forward.

That's kind of my point - and I'm sure I'm ignorant about all the nuances of the distinction between performance aprts and engineering - but they should be a unified entity. Many of us feel an allegiance to SLP - because SLP built our cars, and so by extension to SLP performance parts. I can't help but think that if they worked together to continue to develop and support products for cars, as team they would then flow naturally into the next generation of cars that we (hopefully) will be interested in.

Just seems to me they are cutting back on a very profitable direction. After all, I just spent about $2500 on "stuff" - it should have been mostly SLP. That's not to take anything away from any of our sponsors, there's plenty of market for them, I just would have preferred to keep my SLP car mostly SLP.

I'm not sure if I'm explaining myself correctly - hopefully you get the idea.

Let me just say i am fairly disap [Confused] [Confused] pointed with SLP. I drive a 96' and at SLP day i was looking for " Z28/SS " specific parts. The guys at the booth said they don't carry any thing " Z28SS " any more. Every thing is "CAMAROSS". 96' Was the only year they came out with Z28SS. Even OE parts from SLP are more geard to Impallas and you LS1 guys. It's so upseting knowing that i put so much faith in SLP for my "SS", and now they have nothing for me.

I think i upset the guys at the booth when i let them know how i felt about the situation.
