Hey gang: You may remember from my header and exhaust update that I was looking for exhaust tips 11" long, 3 to 3 1/2" wide and perhaps with a resonator to remove some of the "brraaat" from the GMMG exhaust (on hard acceleration) with header and high flow cats combination and to quiet them just a bit.

Well I found a place in Florida and just got them installed yesterday. They are 3 1/2" diameter - 2 1/2 inside diameter (same as the tailpipes but you can get them smaller for more quieting effect) with a louvered resonator core, heavy guage stainless and a very nice piece at a reasonable price - $89 for the pair.

They didn't do much for quieting the exhaust at idle - quieted just a bit - but they did significantly reduce the flat "brat" sound on harder acceleration and it is much easier to keep the sound at a "gentlemanly" level on lighter throttle. All in all I'm very pleased with the results.

So for any of you looking to take just a bit of the sound out of your system - loudmouth, etc. - by just swapping tips these may be a good option.

Here's a link to pics of the tips and to Stainless Works:

Nice "tip" on your exhaust. I've heard some
of exhausts you refer to and they can be
too raspy.

Love the look of the wider tires!

I was thinking about you while I was waiting for them but didn't want to say anything until until I got and tried them. By the way, they will also do tips that you send to them. Inside diameter of the resonator can be 2, 2.25, 2.5 2.75 etc.

Thanks John, I'm getting a bit more used to them and have the Hotchkiss 1" lowering kit on the way which will help with the 4wd look. Once those are on I'll decide what to do with the rears..but that's another update coming soon!
