No hotel charges yet - you should not be billed until you stay. It's just to guarantee late arrival. Posts: 5558 | From: Windsor, Ontario. Canada | Registered: Feb 2000

ditto -- that's what the lady told me when i made my reservations; she did say that if i came in after midnight, my card would be charged for that previous day for holding the room

this is what i thought. i think that there is some possible fraud on my acct. then. the M/C fraud dept. called me to inquire about a couple of transations. one of them was a $272.00 charge at www.hotels.com. so i'm thinking that this cannot be for BG. because why would the Inn use a website if i have already given then my credit card info. but i will have to wait until monday to talk to the manager. and then i will probably have to close out my acct. and open a different one.
this sucks. i have never had credit card problems before. Posts: 1579 | From: Portland, OR. | Registered: May 2001

i had a problem like that last yr and the credit card company caught in time before the girl could use it again. turns out it was the girl from my Gym i went to . she was stealing CC#'s from a few customers and charging stuff and having them shipped to po boxes and then closeing out the mailbox...stupid girl!
i am very careful of what gets charged to my card and if i have to make a huge charge i call the company first to let them know so i dont have any problems and they decline the card when i am standing in line to pay for a big purchase...ie: when i bought the new surround sound and tv sysytem for my room last yr!

Don't worry Nate. It happens eventually to anyone who has a credit cad. Cancel that card, and they'll send you another one. You are not responsible for charges that are not yours.
No big deal really.

I was able to cancel my hotel reservation for the F-body Event in Indianapolis yesterday - no charge ever appeared. Confirmation #'s are useful! Once upon a time I went into my local Sunoco station and tried to pay for a fill-up with my Sunoco Mastercard. The transaction was declined and the clerk wouldn't return my card! I knew something was up so I insisted on speaking to Master Card to find out what. When I got them on the phone, they asked me if I, or any members of my family had been to the Middle East recently and rung up an $800 purchase in Egypt! They immediately put a stop on my card after that, since the only thing I ever used that card for was local gas purchases! I was avery happy to see how diligent they were! Another time, Shirley and I both received replacement American Express cards in the mail oone day, with a note stating that they had rreason to believe that the account had been compromised and here are your new cards! Again, no unauthorized charges ever showed up!
