Author Topic: Question for all LE Members ss_rs_z 4th Gear Member # 1888 posted                    I am wondering if any of you have it listed on the fenderwall of your 35th Anniversary LE's listing the usage of Mobile 1 Synthetic 5W-30 motor oil? I happened to notice on a members website that it was listed on hers. Just curious as to know. The part number for the Mobil 1 oil cap is 12555685. The part number for the Mobil 1 decal is 10236268. [ 21. I was just curious if there was a change later on and the decal was added as I had picked up my car in November of 2001. I appreciate it. LS1 engines are filled with regular oil and LS6 engines are filled with Mobile 1. I refilled mine with Mobile 1 at first oil change. I also installed Mobile 1 cap and applique. I placed the applique under the hood at the back so it can easily be seen when hood is opened. By the way, the guy who works at the assembly plant is a Camaro owner and he told me that there is no difference between the LS1 and LS6 blocks. The only difference between the two engines is the intake, heads, cam and the control by the engine computers. Since he helps build the engines, I'm inclined to believe him. He basically couldn't but as you said there are subtle changes here and there along with a different MAF sensor which makes it breathe a little easier and adds a few more ponies. There was a bulletin stating such.... (it was around september of the 01 model run I think). No F-body ever came from the factory with a mobil 1 decal or oil cap.... it is a popular mod by many to add them.... On my car I just added the oil cap, I personally think the decal plate is tacky...
