I think this may have been suggested before, but it would be nice if dates could be added to the main forums page, so that you don't have to open each one to fine out if anything new has been added. Looks like there is room in the boxes. Just a thought!

I have the link for Active Daily Topics set so I see the first bit of text in the post, and can see which ones are new based on the time posted.
If I'm on the main forums page, I see if the light bulb symbols are yellow or white. Yellow indicates new posts in that forum, and once you're in that forum, the folder will be colored to indicate a new post. You might need to clear your cookies for this feature to work.

Well since we're on this topic, I like how 'other forums' have both the thread starter as well as another column that lists who was the last to post there. But maybe I'm picky Posts: 2651 | From: Enola (Harrisburg Area), Pennsylvania | Registered: Jan 2002

No, you're not picky. The other boards are a different brand. I've talked with J.R. about using a different brand of board and he is looking into it. It's not free, and J.R. has graciously provided this forum for us for many years. I'm not one go fire free help, and will be happy with what we have as long as it's available to us.
It's J.R.'s call on what software to go with, but I'd suggest making sure you buy from the sponsors of the board (the ones with banner ads at the top of the page) and let them know which board you are a member of. If they know their customers are coming from Chirpthird, it'll benefit everyone and we might see some upgrades. Posts: 7198 | From: Near Portland, Oregon, USA | Registered: Feb 2000

Thanks for checking, just thought I'd ask in case it was something simple. I obviously need more comp. training. As I don't have any light bulbs on the main page and don't see any way to link to "Today's Active Topics". I'm sure this is entirely my fault, as I'm such a computor wiz!!
Anyway, Stealth took care of the dates, but I don't think I want to toss my cookies. Thanks again!

Go to: http://www.chirpthird.com/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi That's the main forum page. Do you see the light bulb icon before each individual forum? While you're at that page, look at the upper right hand corner of the screen. You should be able to see the "Today's Active Topics" link. Click on that and bookmark it. (Heck, set it as your home page that loads first when you open your browser.)
Let me know if you're still having trouble seeing it and I'll try to describe it differently if you haven't quite understood.

Yup, if you go to http://www.chirpthird.com you get the lead intro page for the forums. That's where you can get to last year's Bowling Green Photo albums.
If you bookmark the forums and daily active topics links, you should be fine for seeing what's going on.
