Tuesday night I gave my 5 year old Chinese Shar Pei dog named Yoshi to a person who works in my building. It was my wife's decision to give him to a good home since he would not stay in our yard if left unattended or unchained. He was a very good natured dog that would never bite anyone, but just did not want to stay home in his yard.He would always come back a few hours later to be with his buddy my German Shepperd named Bear.Yesterday morning the new owner told me that "your dog ran away". I asked how did that happen (I also told him that was the reason why I was giving him up) and it seemed that this guy had no clue as to get a dog used to him or the new house. After I went home the wife and I took Bear in the Suburban and made a trip to Detroit where Yoshi's new owner lived. It made me sick to my stomach to see the run down, nasty neighborhood this guy lived in and to think that I subjected Yoshi to that!We drove around the neighborhood for a while hoping to see Yoshi.I figured that since I had Bear with me that if Yoshi saw me and Bear that he would come to us.We never spotted Yoshi.I just hope that he was found by someone that will love him like I did and not abuse him or subject him to a dog fight. This is a mistake that my wife and I will have to live with.

I will probably spend my whole weekend looking for this dog that I gave away.I wished the new owner felt that same way. Posts: 5682 | From: Dearborn,Mi. | Registered: Feb 2002

Go get that dog back and keep him for yourself this time. Good luck.
If we get him back we will keep him.At least if he did leave the yard he knew where he lived and he would come back in the yard by himself.Real important to screen the people when giving an animal away.I did not do that with this guy.

Many years ago I had a dog that liked to go out and paly like that. One day he just never came back. I looked and looked but no luck. Well three months later I was driving through a neighborhood about 10 miles from my house and there he was outside playing with neighborhood kids. When I called him, he ran and jumped in the car like he had only been gone an hour and never left the property again.

Wow,you got very lucky.I guess I will drive around the Detroit neighborhood where he was and try to find him.Maybe even give the new owner a rug that Yoshi and Bear slept on so their scent will be at the guys house. To make matters worse,I have a neighbor that came over last night to take Yoshi for a walk. She said that she would have taken him in a heartbeat. She also has a better fence than I do and he would never be able to get out of that yard.I have not slept good and Bear has not eaten much since Tuesday. She looks so depressed.
