What is the name of the pricing guide that dealers use? Gows or Gauls? Something with a "G"? They claim not to us KBB or NADA.

The ones around here all use one that I've only heard called the "black book"

The dealers in this area all use a NADA black book to low ball your trade value. www.nada.com

You're talking about Galves.

The major players are Black Book, Kelly Blue Book, NADA, and Red Book. Each one of them seems to gear their prices in a different direction based on who buys their publications.

I am the guy that does most of the research and pricing for the Red Book. We aren't as consumer-based. Lots of local Governments and Insurance companies use us. But I can tell you that we are very reflective of what the actual market is doing.

Galves that's it!! That seems to be the most popular with the Chevy dealers around here, and the prices seem to benefit the dealer. Thanks for the info.

Most dealers around here use Galves. The used car market has been tough for the past year for sellers, great for buyers.

Alot of new car dealers around me have a very small or no used car inventory now.
