One of my co workers mentioned a rumor to me today that Ford was going to cut 1,500 contracted Technical Engineers. Boy I was disappointed when I heard that! My new position I took in June is a Quality Engineer. My old position I had before I got laid off before was a Service Engineer that falls under Technical Engineer.Since my new position is a pilot program,my boss reclassified it to a Quality Engineer.Maybe that kept me off the so called list.Living here in the Detroit area...the Automobile Capital of the World sure can be tough since most people I know work for the auto companies or suppliers.

Boy, tell me about it. I am in the telecommunications sector. More specially, I WAS in the emerging (now submerged) local competition area. There are not many new start up companies even left now.
