My 02 Camaro SS has a popping sound coming from behind the instrument panel. At first it was only there when I got on it fairly hard. Now it's there anytime I going over 65 MPH. It seems to be louder when I'm in 6th at 70 than if I'm in 5th, but that may because of the difference in engine noise between 5th and 6th. My car only has 4600 miles on it, but I am very reluctant to take it back to the dealer because of previous experience with other cars/trucks at both Chevy dealers.

Has anyone else had this popping sound and if so how did you fix it.

Check for anything that is connected to the engine that may be rubbing the firewall. Also check the hood rubber bumpers. If they have no lube on them they will make noise and it will transmit thru the passenger compartment.
