My dealership got our first SSR in today, a nice bright yellow. I took it for a quick spin before my tech did the PDI and you wouldnt believe the way people looked at it. I must say, pretty damn cool, but a 46,000 price tag is a little too much for me! [Wink]

Thats why you wait until you can buy one at GMS.... [Big Grin] I think a red one will make a nice tow rig to pull my SS around.... [Cool]

I agree with waiting [Big Grin] . Within the year GM should lift the restrictions. Have the wife drive it 60 days and get the GMS price plus fleet prices. Figure that the $46K price should drop to about $30 out the door [Smile] .

It would be a great tow rig [Big Grin] .

I thought that a couple of years ago when they announced it was going ahead ...word I got was that because of the drop top it doesn't have the structural integrity req'd for a decent tow rating [Frown] Maybe that's changed? [Confused]

Nope its body on frame (underneath all midsize SUV) With the V8 it has a decent rating... can't rememeber what I saw as a number but it will pull my SS just fine.... [Big Grin] I would like to get one but I'm saving for the next gen camaro or that 502 ramjet to go into my chevelle.... [Wink]

it is built on the Trailblazer platform. Even is equiped to have four wheel drive, as far as the passages for front axles at oil pan etc... wonder if an AWD version with a 5.7 instead of 5.3 will be soon offered.. kind of like an SSR SS? [Wink]

I'll tell you what goes on up here in "Canadia" (I like that one!) [Wink] In a nutshell, the SSR is CDN$70K and '03 Z06s are being advertised at CDN$70K (with 1.9% financing). Canadian list on the CTS-V has been pegged at CDN$70K. The SSR is definitely a looker, but whatch'a gonna do when the novelty wears off? [Confused]
The choice for me would be a total no-brainer! Heck! The Z06 looks purdy good to me [Big Grin] (even if it isn't a convertible). Might even have a hard time choosing between a Z06 and a CTS-V! [Confused]
Oh yeah - and it's lookin' like we just might be gettin' a new prime minister within a couple of weeks! Ol' Jean Poutine sounds like he's about to step down! [Cool]

Best regardSS,

Elie

Must be metric... [Big Grin] I could have sworn I saw 4000 lb. tow capacity but that was a while ago when things were still in pre-production. If thats all it can pull I'll have to pass.... but if I hit the lotto I would still buy one... I like it a lot... and I still might get one.... you never know. [Roll Eyes]
