Had to put new pads and rotors on my Suburban. First I tried to find some after market performance rotors for it - but none were available. The shop I deal with knows that I don't like to cheap out on parts, so we decided to go to the GM dealer and got OEM rotors and pads.
The brakes were terrible. The pads were noisy, dusty, and gave a terrible feel. Spoke to the shop owner. He suggested Ceramic "Quiet Stop" pads from Raybestos. Expensive, ($180.00 Cdn) for a set, but he'd had good experience. He put them on yesterday - charged me for parts only - and they are great. Very quiet, nice pedal feel and guaranteed dust free! Yee Haw!

Actually I keep telling Mary to try her hand at Milan. A few mods and some tuning and I should be in the 15's!
Yes - I did the Skyline run and was able to keep up with some of the older F bodies!

I've had similar experiences with stock pads & rotors. The OEM pads seem to be relatively soft and wear quickly (lots of dust) while the rotors warp. A friend of mine had a Yukon with similar problems. A mechanic suggested that he replace the pads with Raybestos brand units. He did so, and the wear was reduced (less dust) with no more rotor warping. My rotors on my Jeep GC warped within the first year. I replaced the pads with the Raybestos units two years ago, and I've had no brake problems since then, and the wheels stay cleaner too.

The ceramic pads are awesome. I love mine. They will be the replacement pads for all of our cars when they need new brakes.
