Just a little reminder of this marked day in U.S. history, marking the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. My thanks to the U.S. military around the globe. I salute you!.

My dad, a WWII veteran who served honorably as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corps in Japan and the Philippines, passed away in August of 2002. Every year on this date, he would remind me of its importance. Hats off to these veterans, whose ranks are quickly thinning.....

After my paternal grandmother passed away, we were going through a box of old bibles that she had kept. We found one that my grandfather chose to give to me, and it is one of my most cherished possessions.
when you open the cover, there is a letter from FDR, dated in 1941. I am really proud that my grandfather's navy-issue bible was passed on to me by him.
