voluntarily.... 88,000 17 inch eagle rsa's that were optional equipment on 22,000 cadilac cts four doors, 2003-2004.

prob. is cracking on the inner sidewall that way "purely cosmetic and has nothing to do with performance or handling" to qoute GM.

Goodyear is all for it.. and stated that this particular rsa was specially engineered soley for the caddy cts........

Ken,

Just wondering....
Has there been any published info as to why the sidewalls split, or crack, at the shoulder junction on B.F. Goodrich KDW tires (275/40-17)? My first set, purchased in 2001, showed signs of splitting before 10,000 miles. The air pressure was always maintained at 35 PSI (as indicated on my SLP door sticker) and the car has always been garaged. I eventually put 35,000 miles on them.

My car now has a fresh set of KDW's that were purchased in one of SLP's wheel/tire deals. Since my SS is now pretty much a "seldom driven/show only" car, I am worried that this new set will split as well.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
