I installed my silver guage face today. It looks great but apparently I didn't get the needles back on in just the right place (oops. I took pictures before removing it and I'm pretty sure that I've got the needles back in the same place. My speedometer looks to be somewhere around 10 MPH off and the gas guage is reading too low.
Right now I'm thinking about filling up the tank, taking the needle off while the car's running and moving it to the full position.
For the speedometer I'm think about popping off the bezel, taking off the needle, then pacing Linda's Trailblazer at 60 and trying to position the needle while driving. I'm not real crazy about that plan.
Does anyone have any advice on recalibrating these?
Thanks.

I wouldn't do that. As you know from putting them on, it's somewhat of a delicate process. For the speedo, just put it on a few MPH higher than where it is and try it. For the fuel guage, do the same adjustment. If you have autotap, take the measurements from auto tap and adjust accordingly. If you don't have auto tap, this is as good a time as any to get it.

When I installed my silver gauge face, this is what I did. 1.I made a photocopy of the guage face. 2.Started the car. Marked where all the gauge needles were. 3.Took the car for a ride to heat up to temp.Checked where the speedometer was at in 4th gear. 4.Came home. At idle,I made the second marks where the needles were. 5.For the speedometer needle. After install and before you put the bezel on. Take a ride with a friend and have him steer for you. I set my cruise at 1800rpm and replaced needle at 40mph.It took a couple of times till I got it right. All my gauges are now reading properly.
Good luck

Someone has forgotten Texas DPS Officer Bob that stopped us on the way to Bowling Green. At least we only got warning tickets...and he did say that we had "purty cars".
And yes, I had taken point so it was my bad.
