I just spoke with the original owner of my LE/SS. He is sending the original window sticker, SLP window sticker, Birth Certificate, and 35th SS LE owners portfolio.
He kept them as collectibles, but after speaking with me, decided they needed to stay with the car!!!
WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Had a similar instance happen to me, however the time span was greater than a couple of years.
I bought my 1984 Hurst/Olds off eBay back in 1997, because 1) I've always wanted one, and 2) I got it relatively cheap. The guy lived in Missouri, actually near Kansas City. The car had gone through about 6 owners best I could tell, so finding the original owner was going to be a tough one. I didn't even seriously think about finding the original owner until 2001.
Through the Hurst/Olds club archives, the original owner's name and town were listed for all 3500 of them. GM did keep records of the Olds conversion car numbers back then. So I searched the internet and found the woman who bought car #19. As luck would have it, she was living in the same house!
She told me some great stories about the car and when she owned it. Although she didn't keep any of the window stickers or sales slip, she DID still have some family pictures of when the car was new and also a GM complimentary cassette tape (those were the days). So now, the Hurst/Olds has been reunited with it's complimentary cassette and I now have a few historical photos of my car.
The reason I keep the car is because it is the earliest known 84 Hurst/Olds still surviving. None of the earlier ones have surfaced.

I have a friend who has an 87 Hurst/olds that is just like brand new (but then all of his stuff is! ). He bought it from the original owner in 89. They sure are nice cars!

Oh, wicked, bad, naughty Zoot! She has been setting alight to our beacon, which, I have just remembered, is grail-shaped. It's not the first time we've had this problem.
