Four-time NASCAR® Winston Cup Champion Jeff Gordon and the DuPont No. 24 car kick off the 2004 Nextel Cup season Saturday at the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Coverage of the 70-lap, no-points "all-star" race will be broadcast starting at 7:30 p.m. (U.S. Eastern Time) on TNT.
Jeff will try for his third win at the track when he makes his 11th Shootout appearance this Saturday. His first win came in 1994 in his Shootout debut. Only four drivers have won the Budweiser Shootout and the Daytona 500 in the same Speedweeks, and Jeff is one of them -- winning both races in 1997.

It's a little hard to get used to seeing Nextel instead of Winston as the primary sponsor after all these years, but it looks like the rule changes in the upcoming season will add a little more spice to the championship points race.
With NASCAR starting up, Spring can't be far behind.

It's the same for NHRA drag racing too, now that Powerade has replaced Winston.
