The picture(s) of the day ............ one of the quickest, fastest, and most consistent cars in California during the mid '60's .............. and unfortunately, one of the cars doomed to be destroyed
The beautiful candy apple red dragster sponsored by Gotelli Speed Shop .......... and driven by the very talented and much loved Denny Milani ............ the car was one of a very few "legs under" cars where the driver's legs and feet went under the rear axle ........... built by Pete Ogden and the body was done by Jack Hageman
Tom Hanna, the noted dragster body builder was quoted as saying "It has always been my contention that, however skilled the tin bender, you simply could not successfully gift wrap an elephant. Cars designed with the drivers feet under the rear axle, by their very nature, made a lovely platform on which to build a body of pleasing proportions."
Tragically, this car was involved in a horrible crash at Half Moon Bay less than a month after these pictures were taken ............ Denni Milani was killed ........... and the car was totally destroyed. Rest in peace Denny .......... you will never be forgotten

Mornin' all - looks like the cold is coming back for a visit. That's a good thing - this forty degree weather was just way too uncomfortable!
