How necessary are these things ?? I really don't see what their function is ? I am about to install LCA relocation brackets from BMR, and they say to cut 3/8" off of these things for fit.

My thinking is...if it is a necessary weight, and I cut some off, it won't weight the same....
Is it needed??

Thanks for any info.

I put on the BMR relocation brackets, with
Metco Aluminum LCA's and cut nothing! It's
very tight fit, but it can be done. Just be
patient and everything will line up.

Here's a link to what their talking about, LINKY
Seems only the 94'-97' Camaro's had these fishing weights attached to the rear Calipers.
Suckers are about 3.5" round and about 1.5" thick, went ahead and hacksawed them as they recommended. there was no way the bracket would have bolted up other wise....
Wish i had a bandsaw.... [Wink]

Anytime a weight like that was used, it was to mask a vibration / frequency concern. I don't recall ever seeing those on the rear calipers of my old 1997 30th Anniversary Z28.
