There has been tons of discussion on this topic. And there are a variety of opinions. But, I think most agree that for fit and finish, the FLPs are favored. GMMG used the FLPs on there early "supercars".

I installed the SLP long tubes on my car myself and I am very happy with them, still using all 4 O2 sensors and no codes,I did have an engine wiring clearance issue at first but I fixed that and all is great since. I put them on in may 2002 with less the 3,000 miles on car...I have about 11,000 miles now including trips from here in NH to VA Skyline 2 times,NJ SLP DAY, even drove it to Camaro Superfest,ann arbor MI that was 900 miles each way...I do know the FLP's are easier install and they dont hang as low, you need O2 sims using their setup. Some on here just got the PPC headers, I've only seen them, they are also coated, Im not sure how the install goes, maybe one of them will reply. JUST MY .02 Al

I'm right in the middle of the PPC install.
The drivers side manifold is out, and 2 more bolts and the passenger side will be out. Have one 02 sensor, that is seized. I'll pick up a new one tomorrow. No way I can remove it, so I unplugged it and will put in a new one.

PPC, QTP, Kooks - Good power, install, clearance SLP - Been around for a while, nice package, tried and true FLP - Good clearance, comes with cats and off road pipe kit TTS - Good solid system, good clearance, used by many of the later GMMG cars.

I liked the FLPs for the following reasons. Not as low as SLPs,came complete with everthing except Sims,came with ORP,cats and Y-pipe and easier to install. IMO. Everone has their own opinion as to what they like. I was going to gat the SLPs,till I found out about the FLPs. You can inter-change the ORP and cats in 30 minutes.

they only thing that concerns me with the SLP headers is the clearance. Thats all i hear about, even though my car is stock height and probably always will be.

None of these decisions are easy, there is no clear and obvious choice. I didn't like all the bends and welds in the SLP headers, and the clearance issue, the FLPs had banging problems back then but I believe they are resolved now, the QTPs weren't ready and had no y pipe, PPC and Kooks were not "there" but they are now and they all have y pipes now. I was very concerned about gasket leaks so really liked the thick flange on the TTS and their y pipe and cats were a nice set up. For power - the PPC, QTP, Kooks are tops. So except for the clearance on the SLPs, you can't really go wrong with any of them.
