I am looking at getting a changer. Where does the wire harness run in the body of the car. Where does it mount. My car was not setup for the changer, so I will have to make all the modifications to make it fit. If anyone has the part #s, that would help too. Thanks.

The harness is tucked away in the rear. You will have to take off the side panet to get to it. I got mine from T.E.Hunt radoo in Michigan but...........I remember a post on some 35th seats and saw a pic of a cd changer in the mix. Might want to check it out.

GM part #'s are 12371528 12disc package and 12344015 for the harness package. My package had a harness included so I didnt need it. Also it wasnt used as the one stuffed in the back was long enough.

On my '99 the wiring, and plug was behind the rear left side panel. All I had to do was mount the GM 12 disc changer and plug it in. (Well, I also had to change out the head unit but that was just an early '99 issue, and whole other story).

On my '01 it's the same deal. The wiring and plug are already there. I won another 12 disc changer on E-Bay last week and I'm just waiting for it to arrive so that I can do the same thing.

I know there are better systems but I'm more into the performance than sound and with the same changer in both cars I can easily move the cartridges back and forth.

You will need:
1. One #16 bracket, part #10274254, $4.34
2. One #20 bracket, part #10428324, $3.60
3. One #23 bracket, part #10276577, $3.51
4. One #18 nut, part #11516780, $0.63
5. Four #19 screws, part #11503044, $16.00

Two #15 retainers are already on bracket #16 so there is no need to order them.

Bracket #23 mounts under the carpeting and the the vertical stud on the bracket will petrude through an existing cut (made at the factory) in the carpeting. Use 3M double sided to mount as this will hold it ok.

I hope you find this information helpful.

Just picked up 2001 TA WS6 w/ ram air. Has a 12 disc changer in trunk but previous owner took tray when taking back his CD's. Any idea where to get new tray for CD's?

Straight out of the parts book and illustration manual. Got it on CD, too big to put it in an email. But if you're interested...

Where does nut 18 attach to? Is it the plate 23, or a different place.

It attaches to the stud just forward of part 23. Check your personal messages...you have mail.

There is no stud just forward of where part 23 would be. Do I make my own?

These look nothing like the one I have....mine is just a simple metal bracket, L-Shaped with several small holes in the long vertical leg of the " L "...two holes in the horizontal peice that bolts to the car....not as complicated as the one shown here.
