for you folks that might have a need for one...this puppy works....:

Michelin "X-Ice". it replaces the Alpin line they have now. comes in sizes ranging from 13" - 17". also offered is the Latitude X-Ice which will compete against the Bridgestone Dueler DMZ.

these tires feature a new rubber compound and siping technologies along with a V shaped tread design.. the tread pattern has Z shaped sipes for braking and traction, longitudinal zigzag grooves for deep snow traction, square contact patches for extra traction and control on ice, and michelins new "Stress equilibrium Casing for exteneded and even wear........ the directional and V shped tread pattern is for gydroplanning resistance.

stay safe!

Sounds like they're geared for 4X4s, notorious for uneven tire wear on the front tires. What the heck is "gydroplanning" Was that a typo or a new word?

meant 'hydroplaning' [Wink]

The Firestone Winterfires I used on my SS were most excellent. Not sure if they still make them. THose tires are now passed down to my sister's 02 V6 Camaro vert. Along with her now Firehawk SZ50's!!

Thanks for the info Ken! [Smile]

typo on the hydroplaning ..sorry.

the compound uses advanced silica generation rubber that allwos the tread rubber compound to soften progressively at the roads surface whiile remaining rigd near the belt...

this is what gives it it's unusual grip. pretty awesome tire so far.

available to be ordered april 1 from dealers from what i understand....but not sure on all sizes.
