I've got my SS up on jackstands to give it a wheels-off Spring cleaning. I've got chrome SS 5-spoke wheels with the stock lugnuts and chrome SLP nut covers. I'd like to replace these with one piece chrome lugnuts.

Does anyone know;
1) the thread size for the Camaro lugnuts, and
2) if the standard acorn style chrome lugnuts (with the correct thread [Roll Eyes] ) can be used with the chrome SS wheels?

I don't have the exact answer, but an unqualified yes is here. Any decent tire shop should be able to tell you the thread info (I think they're 14mm)

Alot of poeple have done exactly what you're talking about. I'm still running the black covers as I think they look good on my car...it is white with black accents.

Good luck

They are 12mm 1.50 pitch. Here's a link with some good info:

Hey John. I have chrome acorn lug nuts on my car. I just went to Canadian Tire and got a set of Meguar (sp) chrome acorn nuts for a GM application. I have been using them for several years now with no problems.

The SS wheels should use the same thread pitch as normal, since the thread exists only on the lugstuds. However, I belive that due to a difference in the bolt holes through the wheels, some of the lugnut covers wont fit. This may affect the largest outside diameter (OD) that can be used in the SS wheels. I think people have used gorilla lug nuts as a replacement for the factory setup, and thats what I would do if I were you.
