The other day I came across my old Motor Trend from 1995 (maybe 94?) It has the Z28 proudly adorning the cover and rightfully titled as the "Bang For The Buck King." I bought this Magezine when I had my 94 Z28. Finding it in a box in my garage brought a moistness to my eyes that good friends and loved cars can do.
Here's a pic I also recently found of the old 94 Z
I had this car (and other's before) long before I knew who Scott Settlemier was or what a message board was. My wife and I had this car and our 69 Vette, life was good. Two daughters later and the memories of this car along with memories of SLP's release of the 96 SS, eventually found a for sale on the Vette and an order sheet for an 02 SS
That's what why Camaros are so important to us. In my case I had a 1st gen because it was all I could afford, an 82 Trans Am because I couldn't afford even a used Vette. In the early 90's I finally bought the Vette of my dream, a 1969 vert...funny how I turned full circle to return to the desire of the Fbody I had to have.

My purchase was influenced by that article, because at the time I was leaning toward a used ZR1 or a TT RX7,,,,,when I put the $$$ factor in the Z won!!!!!
I still have that one,a little dog eared but still presentable!!!!

Dude! No matter how much "nice" I post...the other seems to be remembered. I can't win.
Thanks for the compliment on the ragtop...I really blew it letting it go. It was an all original (except for the paint) 68 250 column shift...matching numbers too.
Not a "blazing fast" 68...but pretty rare to find one unmolested like this one was.
It went to a good home...and its the only Camaro I have ever sold that I actually MADE money on....

As one of my favorite people always says....
"If I've made just one person happy, then it's all been worth it." (Tony Clifton)
...and this is by no means admitting to being "TONY" on another board....
JEEEZ...people...get back to the car pics already.

BTW....the sunset pic is the VERY first time I drove the 68 after it being apart for two years...my buddy and I had just finished bleeding the brakes and took it for its grand- reintroduction to the road. The interior was still in process. The pic is along Mulhulland Hwy...
Oh the memories...

The wheels were LG Motorsports Wins 17x9.5s Interestingly enough...I had these wheels on my 94 Z28 when it got totalled. Fortunetely, they were undamaged...can't say the same for the rest of the car. Some schmuck drunk driver decided to make a left through an intersection going around the left-hand turn lane (opposite direction) and I t-boned him. There was ZERO reaction time to do anything....SCARY. Dumb thing was...I didn't have a seatbelt on (and I always wear a seatbelt) I had just pulled out of a shopping center and had yet to put it on.
He had an SUV...I flipped the b@stard over. The airbag in the Z deployed and saved me from any serious injury. They carted the drunk idiot off in an ambulance.
WEAR YOUR SEATBELTS!!!!
