What an a-hole. He didn't have to wait until a week before camp to decide he'd rather smoke dope than play ball. I'd be steaming if one of our best players did that.

Barry and his agents only wanted money money money. Everytime the fans turned around he would be sitting out for more even after he signed a contract, or had an issue with this or that. They bent over backwards for this guy becuase he was so good. His departure was very childish. You don't wait until the very last minute then have your agents send in a note saying "I am retiring." Sure he had problems with management. What athlete doesn't. He turned his back on his teammates and the fans that supported him. He was a remarkable athlete but his characteristics as a man and a team player very questionable.
