History: This vehicle was only made in 1991. Total production was 2998 units. It was considered to be the quickest American made vehicle that year including that 385 horsepower ZR1 Corvette. The list price on the truck was $25,500 before delivery. The vehicle was advertised at 280 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque. This power is produced from a 4.3 liter V6 supplemented by a turbocharger and water to air intercooler. GMC rated the truck to 60 mph from a standing start at 4.6 seconds and the quarter mile at 13.6 seconds. It sports a lightweight AWD system which allows the vehicle to maintain tremendous grip when the torque is applied.
Fun stuff: This vehicle was chassis dyno’d in stock form as it is not at 292 horsepower and 404 foot pounds of torque. Considering that driveline loss on this vehicle, you are talking at tremendous amount of power. 60 foot times can be accomplished in the 1.7 second range on OEM tires.
Condition: This truck is great condition. It looks and drives amazing. Flaws would include a couple of small chips on the exterior paint and a few scratches in the bed. The interior is near perfect and still smells new. I purchased this truck in 1993 with 17,000 miles on the clock. It now has 27,000. It runs and drives like new.
This vehicle has been meticulously maintained using only Mobile One synthetic oil. The water pump and heater core were both replaced in 2003 and a complete tune up was performed in late 2002.
