For some reason, whenever I set a custom avatar it doesn't say set in my profile. I go to set it up, enter the URL, see the avatar and select it, then click on the button to update my profile, but still don't see anything when I post on the board. Going back into the profile, the URL for the avatar has defaulted back to...

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

I think you're missing one step in the process. You need to click a few different things.

(Here's what I did in your profile to set an Avatar. I know it's too large, but you can change it using the steps below.)

Make sure you're using a site that allows Hotlinking.

In your profile:
Click "Select a different Avatar Image"

In the "Use Custom URL:" field:
Enter the URL of your avatar.

Click the "Set URL" button.

When your Avatar appears at the upper left corner of the window:
Click the "Select This Avatar" button.

Close the Avatar window.

Click on the "Update Profile" button.

It should appear the next time you post something new (or refresh after you clear the cache).

Most people's ISP provides some space with each account. Check w/your ISP on how to upload stuff to your space.

Otherwise, I'd recommend http://members.chirpthird.com/hosting/

You'll get lots of space and great support through J.R. [Cool]

Do you have to have a certain number of posts before you can have an avatar?
