I want to thank HTWLSS for the invite from the SLP forum. I recently acquired a 1997 SS convertibleand so far its been a great purchase. I am seeking advice for a wheel change. In 1997 the 16" rims were standard on the convertible, according to my research there was no 17" option. I am thinking about changing to either 17" ZR1's or going to American Racing Torq-Thrust II's. Any advice.

Welcome!

I didn't know the 97 'verts came with 16 inch wheels. The American Racing rims are nice. Definitely a retro look. But I am partial to the chrome ZR-1's. They definitely brighten up the car. Wheels are kind of like exhausts - everyone has their own opinion on what is best. But you have two good choices so whichever you choose will look sweet.

Whoever said you couldn't run away from your problems obviously wasn't driving an SS.

You can't go wrong either way ... one will look original the other aftermarket, both look great on an SS.

Hey, nice to see you here!

Either set of wheels will look great on your SS. Flip a coin!

Let me know if you want to sell your 16's.

I agree with the others. Both are very nice wheels. The ZR-1 Wheels are a very popular wheel. But the Torque Thrust IIs are finding themselves on a lot of f-bodies as well. As Teri said...just flip a coin.
