Had an eight legged B-52 wedged into the grille!

Following some searches, ending up doing this.

  • Placed a towel on the hood in front of the grille.
  • Looped a piece on insulated wire through the grille to serve as a "pull handle".
  • Took a flat head "jeweler's screwdriver" and began to pry up on each of the four clips along the bottom of the grille while pulling on the wire. (there are four clips along the top also, but I only pryed on the bottom clips) The grille popped right out. The material is flexible like the factory fascia grille.
  • After washing with soap, water and a scrub brush. I dried it with a hair dryer.
  • Now comes the best part. Took an artist's paint brush and dipped it in Z-16 and "painted" on the Zaino Perfect Tire Gloss". Dried the excess Z-16 off with a towel and hair dryer.
  • Popped the grille back in the hood. Shiny!

Cool!! Thanks. Gotta file that info for when I need It. I would expect the Z16 will keep the next one from sticking as bad.
