I got your e-mail. It seems you've got a grip on it now. Welcome.

The calipers are painted and then the lettering was applied. Thanks for your interest. I'll send out your order as soon as I receive it. Thanks, and don't forget to post some results once they're (your calipers) are done.

I'd like to see what the caliper covers look like when you have them on. I haven't seen them before. Sounds like it might be easier than painting them...

hey man dont feel bad i thought they were covers! Duh! I went out today and picked up some paint, and put my order in the mail for the decals, sooo i will keep you posted when I decide to do the mod. I found a red paint called "Hardhat" by Rustoleum that is the perfect match for color, but im unsure as to how well the coverage will be and whether or not the paint will withstand the temps? We'll see. See Ya!

Remember guys, there have been a couple of posts on caliper paint. Pep boys sells high temp paint specifically for calipers, Teri found a site with really nice caliper "kits", etc.

I just painted my calipers last weekend and they turned out great. I shopped around and was unable to find a darker blue than the Pep Boys Brake Caliper Paint, so I went with it and put on a set of Mark's brushed chrome TransAm stickers.

Be aware that standard 500 degree engine block paint is not high enough temperature resistance, the caliper paint from Pep Boys and other places is good to 900 degrees F.

Well, it looks great !

The blue is a little lighter than I'd like but it matches the wheels on the 30th really nicely and the decals give it an excellent final touch. After I finished I must have stared at them for about 20 minutes, heh.

I didn't have the digital camera handy to snap pics, but I will do so pretty soon and post a link.

Peace,
BadAss30th

P.S. Thanks Mark for the kicka$$ decals !

Just a note to those of you concerned about the temperature of the calipers: They don't get as hot as the rotors, that's for sure. You really don't need a high temp paint up to 900 or even 500 for that matter. Your calipers don't get that hot. If they got to 500 degrees, you'd have a 3rd degree burn if you touched it for a fraction of a second. I think they'd almost glow at 900. The decals hold up fine, I'd be surprised if the calipers got as hot as 250 degrees max. That's no hotter than a hood on a black car in full sun. Hot? Yes, but not scorching like an engine block.

Maybe someone can do a test with a thermometer after a brisk drive and let us all know how hot they really get. I'm betting on 250.

Just painted the calipers today and added the decals too, i cant believe how trick they look! thanks Mark for the decals, I admit the pep boys paint worked well and the shade of red was very close to the match. I think the calipers look truly custom!! Anyone who has not ordered the decals from Mark is missing out on an easy and custom mod! When can we expect somthing for the rear calipers?? Mark?? I think an SS decal might look pretty cool on the rears. Good luck!
