I can't find anything to clean my white ragtop. I see below they talk about the stuff from Raggtopp on dark tops but what about white? Right now I just use the ZAINO car wash. Any help is appreciated.

The key to a white top is preventative maintenance. We wash ours when we put it away and so far, it's stayed snow white.
If that's not possible, a light scrubbing (soft bristled brush) and some soft scrub should do it. Be very careful with it and use it sparingly. Rinse thoroughly.

You might also consider contacting the top manufacturer Click here to visit Haartz Corp's website.

Ray,

I recently purchased the RaggTopp foam cleaner for my white vinyl top. I must say it is cleaner, but not bleached stark white like I wanted. The cleaner does work very well and I would recommend it highly to the rest of you "other" color guys. Understand, it cleaned very well, but doesn't make it white. You can order it from www.autofanatics.com.

I wrote to the owner and he sent me a complimentary bottle of the spray cleaner which I have not used yet. The foam is a citris based cleaner and smells like oranges. The spray is something different and I am anxious to try it. He did mention the spray is a higher PH, so I am assuming it is stronger.

Incidently, after I used the foam and was unsatisfied, I tried the 4oz of bleach and 2 oz of cleaner in 1 gallon of water trick. It came a little cleaner on the front of the top. Not sure why, maybe because it doesn't rub as much as the sail panels do when folded? Anyway, I will be trying the spray this weekend, and if that doesn't work I am going to try Oxy-clean. (At this point, I am thinking that the spray cleaner is not going to bleach it white, so it may be time for something drastic). Then I might try X-14, but I am afraid that will hurt the clearcoat so that is a last resort. Maybe the top will never be white again.

I have to agree with the preventitive maintenance. If the previous owner had done ANYTHING to maintain the top, I wouldn't be going through this. I also bought the RaggTopp protectant (sealer) which I haven't used yet(because I don't want to seal it yet till I get it white ) but feel confident that will work well.

Interesting how the white tops are vinyl and the other colors are cloth...

Jason

P.S. I want to thank the owner of this UBB for giving us vert' guys a place to chat.
