Just installed the loudmouth on the vert, Its LOUD!! I could do with a speck less rapp, kinda reminds me of the early rods with straight pipes and glass packs. RAPPY! Anyone out there have the loudmouth on the vert? I love the rumble at idle, and the freeway sounds not bad either, but man! 1st, 2nd, and 3rd have a lot of rap! Im thinking i may need to put a couple of small resonators in to increase the back pressure. ?

I don't have one, but I've heard a lot of other people say that about the Loud Mouth too. But, a lot of people love it. I have to say, it sounds cool when you see one go by.

Yea, dont get me wrong I love the sound, but its got a little bit of that rappy backfire kinda sound under decellaration. I do think its a big improvement from the dual -dual muffler. I may try to add a small resonator in there somewhere to baffle it ever so slightly.

the backfiring is minimal once the car is warmed up. I do get one big one on the lazy 1-2 shift after pulling on to the main street in the morning

I have sensitive hearing, and the only time I find the LM a bit too much is in rush hour traffic, when you are constantly crossing the 2K rpm resonance point. I usually leave late and get home late, so it's not a problem.

Otherwise, I don't think I'd want it quieter - or much louder.

Does anyone get a hissing sound at the end of their rumble. If so does anyone know what causes it?

Havent a clue about the hissing. Could be somthing to do with the catalytic converters? I dont hear it in mine. I am going to the Muffler shop tomorrow though. I think I will end up adding two 12" glass packs to the rear pipes to add a slight amount of backpressure to avoid the rappy sound. Today i heard a cobra get on it and his exhaust sounded killer! no rapp, just solid small block rumble.

Is it me or does anyone else think the Cobras in the upper RPM ranges sound real good.

just kidding

I have always said the Mustangs sound better than the LS1's - stock for stock anyway. Must be the true dual exhaust on the Fords.

I'm adding a 4" magnaflow can muffler inline where the fakie glass pack bubble in the straight tube is now. Hopefully it'll quite this beast down! I stomped on it on the freeway entrance the other day, and it sounds like a Nascar race car!!Whoa!

I added the Magnaflow 4" Can muffler to the SLP Loudmouth today. A major improvement! Still has a mean tone and plenty loud without the 2K drone and backfiring due to minimal back pressure. I had the muffler guy cutout the pseudo glass pack bubble (nothing but tubing) out and weld it inline next to the driveshaft. Anyone who wants to have a great musclecar sound on a vert should consider this mod. Only bummer is, driving home I picked up a piece of sheetmetal in my rear tire which slashed a 2 1/2" slice to the core. I had to limp home. New car tire=$250.00!Only 800 miles on that puppy! major bummer!!

Im 37 and I couldnt get used to the backfire-rappy sound. I love a clean crisp rumble with nothin but tone! The only car I could tollerate to be that loud would be a 1965 Shelby Cobra with a 427 Ci. and side Pipes. (An original of course) None of those 5.0 liter imposters. the muff i installed only mellows the sound a tiny bit. What it does do is add the needed back pressure to eliminate the popping.
