Is the spare a biatch to get out? I must be doing something wrong. It seems like it just doesn't want to come out. I removed the jack and all the cover stuff.

Yep...pain in the rear! I have had mine out twice and hopefully I won't need it much again. It is kind of silly. When the tire is aired up it seems to not fit well. But isn't a spare tire needed when you have a flat?

I guess another option would be to get the Z06 flat tire kit and one of these.Posts: 4222 | From: Winnipeg MB CA | Registered: Feb 2000

Just let the air out of the spare first, to make it easier to get out! (I carry a cheap compressor for the rear spring airbags, so I could get away with this)

I figured it out. You have to put the spare in before you put the jack and tire iron back in. Then it is still tight, but goes in a lot easier. Likewise, remove the jack first before trying to take the spare out.
I thought it was interesting that the 17" tire will only fit if it is leaning toward the front of the car.
