I went the other way. Had the cassette with 12 disc changer. Hated it. They're a major pain to to load, take a bunch of trunk space, you can't get at at factory mount location when the trunk is loaded for trips .... I replaced the cassette head with a CD head and yanked the changer.

The next stage will be to see how to feed my iPod MP3 player into the system.

I'd like to show you pic's of the factory mount but I haven't set up an alternate to the lost Photopoint site yet.

Yup. I installed a GM Delco unit in my 99TA with the Monsoon CD head unit. The wiring harnes is already in the car, taped to the rear cargo speaker. You have to drill 4 holes in the shelf and it bolts in. YOu must, if you have T-Tops, put the tops in the back because if you bolt it in, the T Tops might not fit in afterwards.

But it is great not having to fumble with CD's after one is done. Just hit the button and the next one goes. Loved it. searching for a used one now. I can get a new one from www.radiosandmore.com for $360 but I would like to find one cheaper.
