'Kits'? What you will find are sets of lowering springs, in the 1.5-1.7" range. Stock shocks can be used, but you should match the higher rate springs with higher rate shocks.
Rear LCA relocation brackets are a good idea. GW makes the best.
For a 2.5" drop, look to high rate springs, coil-over type spring perches (for fine tuning ride height), shocks adjustable for compression and rebound. You will only be an inch or so off of the bump stops at that.
As for wheel fitment, it's width, offset, and tire choice that are important. My 10.5" wide wheels fit fine.
