It looks like they belong. The red ones you can see the black ones blend in to the undercoating.
Both are equally effective.

I have a picture of an LE with red from the side but I have to email it.

I got mine from Don a few weeks ago and because of the cold and an unheated garage I just put them on the other day cause it got mild out. They went on easy. The only trouble was on the passenger side at the lower control arm. The existing bolt was a little tough to get out at the last few inches and I suspected I'd have trouble getting the new bolt in. The hole on the control arm was a hair off and to get it in I removed the rear wheel and losened the rear bolt of the control arm which gave me enough slack on the arm to get the bolt in. Then I tightened up the rear bolt and went on to finish the passenger side. Because of there not being enough room for my socket I used claw sockets on the bolt that goes through the control arm. My torque wrench is too big to get in there to torque it. I made every thing as tight as I thought it should be. I'll have to waite till spring to test drive, but they sure look like they belong there. Thanks again Don.

I've just installed SLP y-pipe, lid, and bellows. Dec. 2003, installed Don Goetz SFC,s. February 2004 I added white gauges.

Thank you Sir

The lower control arm bolts can't really be torqued to the factory spec because the brackets increase the requirement.
There should be no clunk if there is it will need tightening.
I use the boxed end of the wrench.

Thanks for the info and when tightening the front of the SFC I can hear the metal making a slight snaping sound as I tighten the bolts. Once I get it on the road and even if it sounds and feels Ok I'll re-check all the bolts. My SS is only out for pleasure and hardly sees rain unless I take a trip so every once in a while especially when I do my oil changes I check what ever I can under her and now I'll have the SFC's to check. I know they won't come loose but it's another part of my toy to play with. HA HA!!!

Blue Loctite...Mine have been on for almost two years and the bolts are as tight as the day I put them on.

Popping sound is either the subframe sheet metal getting squeezed together or the threads of a bolt hitting the edge of the hole. Nothing to worry about on either account.
