I finally took some from the outside pics of how Don's SFC fit up under a vert and how low a vert sits with the bilsten suspension and the groung clearance with SLP y-pipe. To see them go to http://community.webshots.com/user/wmss I think they pics 5-6-7 in album Mike's 2001 SS

That is not much ground clearance at all. Not recommended for the bad Michigan roads anyway.

Greg it will drag on parking lot speed bumps if anyone is in the car. People say all the time the opt. SLP bilsten does not lower them much but I can tell you it droped mine and Cindy's alot more than 2.5 inches. The car sits very level on pavement also. You see why I am not running long tube headers. I had my manifolds ported to match the head work I had done and intake is matched to the head ports as well and getting better dyno #no that some with long tubes.

The dealer where we bought our SS from also had a stock SS convertible in the showroom. I compared the height measurement of both cars at the top of the wheel well openings and found out that the front of our "Bilstein equipped" SS was 3/4" lower and the rear was 1" lower than the stock SS.
The lowest part of the exhaust system on our SS is the driver side cat. It has 3 1/2" ground clearance.

Harry, I don't know why our SS's are so low with the package but ours was built I know about the time SLP changed the springs they used in the package and one of my club that runs auto-x has 3inch lowering springs on his and ours sits about as low as his when side by side. And Don you are right your SFC do fit up well and lots of things will drag before they do. My tunnel brace is very low at the middle and will hit things laying in the road.

Those darn Y-Pipes...if the SFC's ever scrape let me if you still have an exhaust system.
Greg I have your set boxed and ready to ship...now did you want black or red?
I'll want black when I have the money and maybe a black STB. I have to pay for a GMMG Chambered Exhaust System that Tom Henry had picked up for me 1st. Posts: 5682 | From: Dearborn,Mi. | Registered: Feb 2002

The Bilstein does indeed lower the cars (nicely I might add), ..seems especially noticeable on the verts. (interesting to note, I've got about the same set-up... SOM vert w/Bilstein, w/D.Goetz , SLP Y-pipe), ...and it is close... But the lowered look is awsome... Kevin
