My Comp T/A is equiped w/ the 10 speaker monsoon stereo. I believe the passenger door speaker is blown. Do these speakers have their own amplifiers? And if so can you change the speaker
without changing the full assembly(speaker/amp).
Any feedback would be appriciated.
Thanx,

I dont believe these speakers in the F-body have their own amp like the older Bose systems did. I have heard of plenty of people on the SLP board that swappped them out for aftermarket speakers. [Smile]

You can replace the speakers alone.

I have already replaced my rear compartment ones with a set of Polk 6.5" components.

Eventually all of them will be replaced with quality speakers.

The front speaker on the newer Monsoon systems have a 2 ohm resistance. You can't just replace the front speakers unless you can find 2 Ohm speakers. The rear sail speakers are 4 Ohm speakers and finally the rear (back seat) sub woofers are 2 Ohm speakers also. You can use a PAC adapter to get 4 RCA outputs from the stock radio and just repalce the amp and speakers, which is what I did. Indinity Kapa separates in the front, Infinity Kapa 4.5" CoAx in the rear and a MTX CF10 sub in the drivers side trunk space. IT rocks hard, but doesn't cost a fortune.

That's what I'm talkin' about...when I have the cash, I'm going to do something similar.
