Hi all.

I was recommended to this site by Mike at Stealth (great guy to deal with and VERY reliable).

You lot seem friendly so I thought I'd say hello from the UK.

I have a '99 Z28 which has had the suspension works thanks to BMR (and Mike), Bilstein and Eibach.

I have removed the muffler and run twin pipes out the back - loud and awesome.

I'm about to put a Random Tech TA on and a ally diff plate. I'm also going to replace the plugs and leads (MSD 8.5mm) in the near future.

Then its BIG rims and tyres, and oh yes I must get that LS1 breathing better.

The Z28 goes down really well in the UK, especially when I race those BMW's he he

Cheers

It is along way, I wish it wasn't.

Thank goodness for email and telephones.

Plus Mike is very reliable, irrespective of the distance across the water.

Sorry I ain't got an SS, they are even more rare over here and they cost £30k approx = $50k.

If anyone is coming to th UK I have a shopping list of parts.

Well I contacted them before I bought my car... not a very helpful bunch of people! It felt just like I wasn't worthy of help/advice/membership. Really strange [Confused] I guess you have to have a 1st gen with matching numbers or something like that. They are their own little group of people and don't want any new blood... that's my opinion of them. I get way more help from forums like this. They can take their club and shove it [Roll Eyes]

That's nice to know, I'm trying to decide whether to return to the UK - my work visa here in the US hasn't long to run, and I'd bring my car with me if it was worthwhile.

A couple of members from the Camaro Club Sweden flew to Kentucky last year for the big F-body event in Bowling Green. They went out of their way to track down where the SSOA was hanging out (Joey Red's room of all places, hogging down on Code Red Mtn. Dew "Sinks" and Oreos). They wanted to get F-bodfather shirts and visit with us for awhile. We even bought one of their club t-shirts (it's very cool). They were very nice and helpful in answering our questions about export Camaros, and one of them followed up with a detailed list of information after they got home. This info really helped us out in learning new facts & info.

As with any club, you're going to run into people that you do and don't have things in common. Maybe the people you met weren't into 4th Gen cars because they don't have one. We run into similar issues here in the U.S., too. It's just a matter of finding someone who is into the same thing you are and can relate.

One of the guys we met is OVE SJÖHOLM. I don't have his friends name, but they were both very nice guys. Ove said he'd like to keep in touch. I'm sure he'd really like to talk/meet you, too since you're in Sweden. His email addy is ove-@telia.com.

PG318 - yes its worth it.

You'll have to contact HM Customs to find out the import duty and tax, but i think shipping is less than £1k.

email rybec.shipping@virgin.net. They are supposed to be excellent at shipping cars and they will be able to confirm price and tax.

Thanks, and welcome. I already checked, there's excise at 10% and VAT at 17.5%, but can be avoided as a personal import.

Welcome to the board jagsy. We're glad to have you with us. Good luck on your future mods! Quick question: are there many Camaros in England and how do people act toward them? Sounds like you have a nice Z28!
