Hey all, looking for the simple cheap answer. The T/A ran to almost dry yesterday. I shut it down as it was sputtering. Put in 4 gallons from a portable container and now the car won't start at all. Any ideas for an easy fix or do I need to tow it to the shop tomorrow? Thanks for any help, K

Welcome to the board.Maybe you plugged the fuel sender screen with debris or the fuel pump burned up from lack of fuel lubrication. Can you hear the fuel pump come on when the key is cycled? [Smile]

I've heard it too, that it is bad to run the F-bodys dry due to lack of lubrication/cooling of the fuel pump. I find it hard to believe.... but that's what I've heard. [Roll Eyes]

First of all welcome to the board Kevin and hope you enjoy yourself with these great people.

Although I am not a mechanic but have worked on cars for over 30 years, ( since the age of 10 [Big Grin] ), it sounds to me like debris may be clogging up a fuel injector, line or the pump itself.

Now Greg and the other gentleman may also have hit on something I would have never thought about, lack of lubrication, but then again I haven never heard of it myself but I know Greg as he is a wiz at cars. So it could be true. I hope your T/A gets running soon. [Big Grin] [Cool] [Smile]

Your very welcome Kevin and hope you get your T/A running soon.

I am with you about the good old days. I guess with all the new and more parts they have put into these cars are very sensitive and can be easily damaged.

Let us know how things turn out. [Smile]
