The 68 project....
Sport Coupe, originally a V8 car

wellllllllllll...

kicking around a few ideas, but here is where I am right now...
SSBC Front disk brake conversion kit will be going in as soon as I acquire a little more garage space
Also on deck is a front-end rebuild (tie rod ends, ball joints, idler and pittman, a-arm bushings)
Hopefully that will all be underway by Feb...

I have a cowl induction good ready to go
I want to make it into an RS...always liked the grille treatment

From a powertrain standpoint....
Originally thinking BB (has a mid 70's 350).
A friend has an 00 SS with LG G5X2 cam and Abs Speed Stage 5.3's
He is thinking about a short block, at which point his LS1 and T56 will be up for sale...
I already have a price from Kooks headers for a set of SS long tubes
That into a chambered system would sound amazing

I see HTWLSS has a 68 with an LS1........hmm

oh, and of course, black....

I still need to pull the carpet to check the floors....there is rot on the pass front floor...
I have some interior pieces ready.

I'll install a set of rear disks down the line, 5 leaf strings and a good rear.

a few pix:

Ummmm......uhhhh......errrrrr......ya caught me.

The '68 Camaros in my sig are actually Steve's cars. The '67 Camaro is mine and the rest are "ours". They're just listed in one place so we can keep track of them. [Wink]
Steve also has a '66 El Camino and I have a '68 Chevelle, (but they're not on that list).

Here are chronological links to pics of Steve's '68 LS1 project:

Here's an "action" shot (sorry for the blur)

We brought the '68 to our big event in Bowling Green last September. Did nearly 6000 miles round trip without incident. Steve does good work!

I can't remember when Steve dismantled the car, but I think it took approximately a year.

I figured that to be a year long project or so.
Worth the time and effort [Cool]

Ok, now I have to get my act together.....
Thanx for the inspiration

The CME is prob my favorite mod...really changed the look of the car....initially, I had it fitted to my existing SLP LoudMouth... a few months later I got my hands on a GMMG [Big Grin]

Thank u..I like the setup a lot...

I had SLP LT headers into a loudmouth, which I liked alot as well, then swapped in Kooks LTs, and all sorts of hell broke loose [Cool]
The GMMG was fitted next...deepened the tone just a bit....

Here are a few sound samples of my SS well as my nephew's GT....

Welcome to the board.

You gotta like the GMMG chambered exhaust. It is awesome with headers ahead of the chambered exhaust.

However, an electronic cutout is a nice option too. [Big Grin]
