I'm not the first with this idea (I believe Andy M., Electron Blue Berger uses this), but thought to post so others were aware. A possible alternative for front-end protection, available at Jo-Ann Fabrics: "Sku# 1151505 - 4 gauge clear Vinyl". I've considered a front-end bra, but I'm concerned about the rubbing/chaffing. I've looked into the 3M stuff, ...and it makes me a 'little' nervous when the description reads, "...application meant to be permanent". The clear vinyl from Jo-Ann Fabrics is inexpensive (about $1.25/sq. yd.), so I'm going to give it a try. NO adhesives, ...just dampen and smooth/squegee out, ...like static cling. Seems like it should work. I placed a 'test' piece about 6" square on the front bumber. It is not that visible, and it passed the 80mph test. If anyone out there has tried this, I'd be curious on your experience???

I used the paint protector strip from Pro - Stripe. Very similar to 3M and way less costly.
Drove to Milan Dragway - 45 miles of Interstate, did 15 runs, drove home. Next day peeled it off, no problems at all. Now I'm doing the front again to prepare for Kentucky. Check with the Body Supply shops near you for cost.

See above link, then go to "products", "stripes", then "specialty tape" and you'll find a listing of this paint protective program they have.
At least you'll have the part numbers. Also, I believe HTWLSS has the info for the similar 3M stuff.

Kevin,
I have a CoverCraft bra. I had it on for two days when I went to Ann Arbor,MI in July. It did not leave any marks. I put it on then to come home. Still no marks. Some guys just leave it on too long. I will be using it to go to Bowling Green.
A stone would probally penatrate that film you were referring to. Granted they don't look that great, but neither do stone chips.

Thanks guys, ...if the pro-stripe is inexpensive, I will probably get some. Even aside from the BG trip it might be a good idea to put some on the rocker panels.
