On your way to Bowling Green next month don't assume the new white Camaro coming up fast behind you is another enthusiast having some fun. There was an article in the local (Evansville, IN) paper this morning about the new Camaros the Kentucky State Police have recently put into service. They are being used in the more 'wide open' areas of the parkways and interstates. You can be sure they will be ready for all those 'F-Body hot rodders' going to the Corvette Museum in Septemeber.
Of course, I realize none of the SSOA members ever drive above the speed limit but in case you know of some other people going to Bowling Green, you might want to pass this info to them.

On one of our KY F-Bod convoys to Beech Bend we passed a white Camaro State trooper. He pulled over the lead car, I was second, and a convoy of about 30 cars all pulled over onto the shoulder too. The trooper gave him alot of grief but finally let the guy with a final comment to "leave the racing for the track", he knew that was where we were heading. I think the sight of all the F-Bods pulled onto the shoulder helped, I think he just wanted to get us moving again and off the shoulder.
He also used the "instant on" technique. My radar didn't go off until we were right on top of him.

There's a speed limit in Kentucky & Indiana
when we left last years' event on Sunday and headed up towards Indianapolis we were cruising between 80 and 100 ... and still couldn't stay out of the way of the 4 x 4's pulling bass boats Posted by Joey Red (Member # 550) on :

I was asking myself that when we were caravaning to SLP Day in Ohio! I think we got lucky we did not get a ticket either! Posted by Kevin V 2002 SS (Member # 1025) on :
You usually don't see many KY State Troopers on the interstates, but it only takes one. Be careful in any construction areas, because they usually are around them looking for folks driving too fast in the construction zones. Don't trust your radar detector, like I said above, most use the instant on method so there is no warning. If you see a car pulled over on the shoulder or in the median, just assume it is a trooper to be on the safe side.
