I'll start.

1) Technical Seminar on drag racing techniques - presentations by some famous GM product drag racers/technical experts. Show & tell at Beech Bend.
2) Theme cruises through the beautiful Kentucky countryside similar to the Shaker tour last year (e.g. Civil War monuments).

I would like to:
1) attend an auto-x,

2)have a group photo during the day on Saturday, while everbody is there and hasnt left yet,

3)maybe a presentation by the F-bod father and other people regarding past/future F-body stuff, etc.

4)maybe go on a drive someplace and see the countryside.

5)dont overschedule events. Leave us time to meet/hang out, etc without missing things.

[cut, paste & modify] I'd like to see Sam Strano or some other high level F-body autocrosser do a seminar, Q&A and demonstration. [/cut, paste and modify]

I'd also like to see the activities at Beech Bend more integrated into the overall event. I don't recall Scott even making it to Beech Bend last year .....the recurring Thelma & Louis re-enactment nightmare should be over by now [Roll Eyes] [Razz]

Who won auto-X last year at the event. I want to know who I have to beat. I know poSSum won the first year, a true lunatic behind the wheel. [Wink]

The fellows name was Rich. He was driving a 95? 1LE that had been tweaked and was, I believe, the only car there on R-compounds. As a driver he was by far the class of the field. Officially he won the sticky tire class and I won the street tire class, coming in second overall.

Defending is one of the reasons I'm nearly crawling broken glass to be there so I don't plan on going down easy [Smile]

The problem I envision is that I'm running on R's locally and will be on streets in Bowling Green so I may overdrive the course [Wink]

Now about the go-karts Thursday night .... [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

I put on Firestone Firehawks, so I'd still be street tires class.

As far as the go-carts, BUMPER CARS!!! [Big Grin]

Gotta be careful though ...the little bump I don't remember inflicting that would have put me into first or second in the SSOA Thursday final round on the slick track got me moved to the back of the longest line with not enough laps to go [Frown]

Yeah, they were pretty brutal about enforcing no bumping or rubbing on both the oval and the road course.

However, I did find one spot on the road course where the "officials" could not see what was going on. Made an opening there several times [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Was that YOU who contributed to my "time out"? [Eek!]

No, no...not me....I behaved myself on the oval. I did not want to be sent to the pack of pack. It was too hard to gain positions under the ever watchful eye of that announ...announc....dictator!!! [Smile]

It was after a "lecture" there that I employed the "stealth racing is rubbing approach". [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

The best was Dennis Barker from Berger in his awesome white Berger SS 2 years ago doing a burnout with the "Barker button" on in the lot by museum and the rent a cop on a golf cart trying to catch Dennis! This event is great Scott brings many toys and Jon Moss (Who will be retiring soon)John Heinrichy and the rest of Chevrolet crew was there hope to see Dave Hamburger and Jeffy from Slp there this year, Matt Murphy brings GMMG cars and his crew also it is by the far the best party ever! The Corvette Museum supplies Vette crew who supervise the great road tours of Kentucky! Looking forward to this year!!

Get the track open before NOON this time! It was a perfect morning for drag racing last year, crisp, cool, clear, just perfect. UNFORTUNATELY by the time the track crew got the track dry, the very sparse amount of compound laid down, the lights working, the timeclock working, the time board working, then the lights working again, it was at least 11 am!

That's a good point. I'd like to see the offsite activities take place before noon, and the onsite activities after noon, so we don't miss out.

The conflicting events and seminars/guest speakers made it tough to decide which ones to attend. I ended up missing the best of both.

yes, maybe do the offsite stuff (drag racing and auto x-ing) in the am, done by around noon or 1. Then have the really big/important stuff onsite start about 1ish also. I like your idea, that way we dont miss out on things. [Smile]

Thanks for the suggestions, keep 'em coming, we are sending them to the appropriate people.

I totally agree, even insist, that events be kept on schedule, however, I believe many activities have limited space so decisions will still need to be made. That's one of the attractions that draws one back year after year. [Big Grin]

AutoX got off to a late start too because the cone trailer was stuck in traffic. [Roll Eyes]

Dallas (the owner of Beech Bend) is a real A-Hole. We rent the track from him for our bashes and we have it from 9:00 to 3:00 but he never has the track ready on time, the last time it was 10:30 before we could start, still had to get out at 3:00 and found out he also rented it to 2 other groups, it was supposed to be just us, and charged all 3 groups FULL price with no discount for not being open until late.

I'll quarentee you it won't be open on time for auto-x or drag racing.

How about if he's told an opening time of 7 am so it'll be ready for the advertised time of 9 am? [Smile]
