I have been seeing some cars with out the frill in place and they look killer, tons of additude(ya baby), am wondering if they are stock like that behind are front grills or are they body shop done? would love to do this to mine but not about to go hacking with out knowing, car appears to be a very rare one, not going to do unchangeable work to it.... Well if I understand you correctly, the look that you're wanting can be gotten with simply pulling off the stock grill. The paint underneath is painted just like the rest of the car. The most it may need is a good polishing to get out any scratched that may have occured from dirt gathering behinde the grill. However, you'll still have the indentions from where the clip were that held the original grill on. The pic below is of my grill from www.wingswest.com It's got the most "attitude" of any grill avalible im my opinion.

Heh, I'd do it...but I don't want to deal with the stupid tickets.

what do you mean tickets, like speeding tickets? or dose your state have some kind of ordinance against the removal of it?

I think he probably means citations for not having a front plate...I have been running sans plate since I got the car last year...Mike G. who owned the car before me, is an LA cop so he had no problems...I got stopped and had to pay a $10 fine. I've got my front plate mounted on an SLP under the lip bracket and the bracket attaches with industrial strength velcro from Home Depot! I have put no holes in the front and don't intend to...the cops have not bothered me at all since...they're having BIG problems with the intersection cameras here and that's the main reason the cops have been cracking down on the plates...or lack of them... I'm not worrying about it anymore!
