I have a 96 t/a with 60,000 miles on it. It has a bad oil leak coming from the back of the intake. I heard that this is a common problem. Has anyone changed the gasket themselves? Is there any thing to change to prevent this in the future? Any info would be helpful

If the back seal of the intake manifold is leaking, make sure all old gasket material or rtv is gone on the block and intake and clean the surface good with brake cleaner. I use Permatex Ultra Copper on the edge of the block. Reinstall the cleaned up intake and torque to specs. Let it sit for a couple of hours then the sealler will be set up and you will not have a leak. Posted by Bumper (Member # 1458) on :
The dealership I deal with gave me a new sealant to use on the intake manifold. It is Assembly Adhesive 1#12346141. They said this is what they are using instead of silicone. I got all the parts I need but I don't know how to get the fuel lines off at the manifold. Any help?
