I need to get another clutch for an LS1 6spd, and was wondering what your opinions are as far as brands, prices, feedback(good and bad), part numbers, and smoothness of operation! I have no experience with it, but I've been asking the question and watching the tech forums since August. I'm 99% sure I'll be getting the Star Spec Stage 3 kevlar ... it should be able to stand up to the E.T. Streets.
GMHTP used it in their Thunderchicken, and have a pretty good write-up on it. You can find the article in their online archive.

Art, do you have an e-mail addy for them? I have heard of other people using them, but couldnt find the company link directly yesterday! All I could find was other people who sell their products! I want to be able to see what options/etc they have.

There used to be a GM clutch engineer that monitered these boards. He posted about 2 years ago - can't remember his name. Teri, Art - you guys remember?
He might have an opinion as well.

What do you think of the Centerforce Dual friction clutch? They have a web page that is current and up to date, I have been using one in my 3900lb Chevelle with a 502 w/600ftlbtq running mid 11's without a failure, however I'm only using an 8inch tire(Hoosiers). Good luck

I just put a Z06 clutch assembly in my 2000 SS, about 45 days ago, after having the Centerforce DF for little more than one year, around 25,000 miles. The Centerforce managed to destruct itself and also take with it a very expensive SLP billet steel flywheel, burning it right through to the back. Thinking back on some symptoms in the past six months, like a mysterious 11 rwhp loss on the dyno in June, missed shifts that shouldn't have happened, etc., I think the Centerforce was starting to go bad last spring. I don't think I'll be buying another one again. Happy with the Z06 clutch, but the comparatively light clutch pedal pressure takes some getting used to after the heavier Centerforce.
