[Mad] Aaaargh water pump is leaking. My repair manual says to remove the Electric fan when replacing the pump, but ive not seen it mentioned anywhere else. Is this necessary [Confused]

I replaced the water pump on my 1997 30th Anniversary Z28 and by removing the electric fan...frees up a bunch of room to access the water pump.Only a few blots holding the fan in place. [Smile]
