I have the SLP MAF and the SLP Highflow Induction box. Thursday I installed the SLP Bellows and the SLP CAI. After installing the SLP Bellows I noticed that the airlid was comming unhooked from the rear and popping off while driving. I then cut the bellows a little and the hose on the end of the MAF that goes to the hose on the airlid. It seemed to fit good but when I drove it again saturday the left side kept popping off and the hose connected to the airlid would come off. What can I do about it? Do I have to cut some more?
Thanks in advance, Hovig

I had the same problem after I took mine off for the first time. All I did was bend the clips a little more, but not too tight, and it fits fine now.

What clips did you bend?

its a potential problem when you go aftermarket lid, bellows, and MAF.
the entire assembly is too stiff to allow for engine torque.
As you accerlerate hard, the engine moves. that motion is passed down the TB into the air intake.
weakest link is now the tabs on the back of your airlid. be careful. I have seen the tabs break off.
you may need to replace the aftermarket bellows with the stock one again if the problem is persistant.

I have the lid that came with the 345 HP Package. I dunno if thats considered aftermarket. I guess ill have to cut the bellows some more. What a pain in the @SS.

The bellows wasn't designed for that lid. Why did you get it-the OE set-up gets all the HP you're going to get.(That's the 345HP package).

So the bellows is pointless for me? I mainly got it for the look. Should I put the stock one back on? What about the SLP MAF I have that too. Is that ok?

In my former position, I only dealt with the OE parts that SLPE designed-none of the after market parts from SLP PP. I never heard of anyone having problems with the bellows that came with our set-up. We never tested the SLP PP parts to OE specs. I have no idea what their MAF does, if anything. You got to ask them ( SLP PP) that. I know that we tested our system and came up with a conservative 345 HP.

What SLP bellow are you using? The old "one rib" or the new "spherical"?
Personally I use CAI+SLP lid (the PP), SLP MAF and the "one rib" SLP bellow.
After several adjusting, everything is fine. I got the MAF popping off the lid one on a very bad road. The bellow was to close on the TB after a filter wash (at the dealer...).

You should have bought LS1 Motorsports Smooth Bellow. Much better fit. I had to cut about 1/2" off the length and it fits like a glove. Posted by Cravin' (Member # 1431) on :
I had the same problem with the One Rib SLP Bellows and Wisper Lid. I also cut the Bellows and finally got the lid to stay down by pushing the lid all the way towards the Throttle Body and clipping the (cheap) clips on the Wisper Lid. Caveman, get a dyno tune with the 85mm MAF, you won't be sorry. Good luck

I sold mine for this very reason, just isn't worth it for a minimal at most gain.
I beleive the direct flo bellow is better for pontiacs, as their website says.
